Married in 1995, we continue our journey through life.
We met in early 1995. Just moments later—or so it seemed—we had moved in together and set off for a new life in Nashville, Tennessee. By June 7th of that same year, we were married.
I struggled to find steady work, while she landed a job with the state. It didn’t take long to realize that life in Hermitage was beyond what we could afford at the time.
That fall, we packed up and moved to North Carolina, joining the family business renting moving trucks and running a small convenience store. Before long, we branched out into our own office, expanded further into the rental truck industry, and began carving out our own path in small business. Along the way, we each found careers that suited us and began the long, often bumpy journey toward building a stable life. In 2002, we were blessed with our daughter, Olivia.
Fast forward 15 years: you’d find us deep in the woods on our first real camping adventure, our 12-year-old daughter in tow. By then, we had moved to Lenoir, NC and found a peaceful spot at Green Mountain RV Resort. That move brought with it a flood of new memories, friendships, and opportunities—as well as its share of hardships, mostly through natural disasters and the painful loss of close friends.
