Fort Hill, also known as the John C. Calhoun House and Library, is a National Historic Landmark on the Clemson University campus in Pickens County, South Carolina.

The future of Clemson University is rooted in its past, born from a gift made when Thomas Green Clemson and his wife Anna Calhoun Clemson called Fort Hill their home. It was in this house that they dreamed of a high seminary of learning for South Carolina. What began as discussions between a husband and wife in this historic house has grown into one of the nation’s leading public universities. (from Fort Hill website)

Another beautiful old home! The house is very well-kept with period time pieces, most having been owned by either the Calhoun or Clemson families. You can take a guided tour of the first level of the home and then do a self-guided tour of the upstairs where there were several informational kiosks telling the history of the home.

Great staff!
