While surfing maps for a local dive to try while Beth was visiting her mom, I stumbled across Tulips Grub & Pub. Their page advertised a meatloaf special with two sides, and the photo alone was enough to reel me in.

From the moment we pulled into the parking lot, we were impressed. There was spacious outdoor seating, and even on a Tuesday, the place gave off a relaxed weekend vibe. A good sign.

The menu offered a great variety, and the lunch crowd was a friendly mix of ages. It had that unmistakable feeling of a local gathering spot—where everyone seems to know everyone else.
Naturally, I went for the meatloaf special with pinto beans and mashed potatoes. Beth ordered the chicken street tacos with an extra side of cucumber salad.

The meatloaf? Definitely homemade—just like grandma used to make. The mashed potatoes and pintos were equally flavorful and hearty. A comforting, stick-to-your-ribs kind of meal.
Beth’s street tacos had just the right amount of kick and came with generous sides of cheese, sour cream, and salsa. The standout surprise was the cucumber salad—not your typical version. This one packed a serious punch, with jalapenos blended in for an old-school heat that lingered.
Bottom line: we didn’t leave hungry. Tulips delivers comfort food with character, and we’ll definitely be back.
